The inspiration for Understory came from structures and forms that spring from a central support. Large trees are often natural gathering spots. As people arrive and disperse on their journeys, the sculpture becomes a marker in a branching, interdependent network.

Overlay expands across the wall like a crystalline growth. Geometric but irregular, it visually bridges the organic landscape and the architecture of the station. The artwork gives structure to the vines planted below it.
