This project began as a design team effort with the engineering firm ABKJ, King County staff, and local community representatives to replace an historic steel truss bridge on the Snoqualmie River. Art elements include thirty large, cast bronze ornaments bolted to the bridge, 316’ of ornamental bridge railing, paving treatment, color selection for the bridge truss and railing, and input into the landscaping design and plant selection. This project received an award from the National Steel Bridge Alliance in 2009.
